Filling Voids

HT: Ray Ortlund Jr. @ Christ is deeper still

“All sins are attempts to fill voids.” Simone Weil

We might try to fill the voids we so deeply feel by doing bad things or by doing good things. When we salve the ache in our hearts, which only God himself can satisfy, by doing good things, we then feel proud and think God owes us and we get angry when he doesn’t fork over. When we salve the ache within by doing bad things, we feel shamed and think God despises us and slink away from him in bitterness and cynicism. But we are the ones complicating our souls…Read more

Fridays are super exciting

Wow. Sometimes I totally forget that I have a blog. I think the whole blogging thing was overshadowed by a few crazy weeks and my introduction to Twitter. (Look to the right to see some sweet tweets :P )

Anyways…

I’m at the office right now. For some reason, I enjoy working the office on Fridays instead of working from home (like the other 99% of the company). It’s so quiet and serene (and the internet is really fast). You don’t feel super rushed to get anything done. You just do it at your own pace. You work slower, yet you are more productive.

What makes Friday even better is the Berry Chill just a block away. After a long week, a spoonful of fruit and frozen yogurt is extra satisfying. Some would even say it is a spiritual experience..Mmmmm.

<– Doesn’t the Berry Chill logo remind you of Naruto (which I also read from the office on Fridays)?

This video reminds me of some Joe Eigo videos from a couple years back. Since it’s NBA playoff season, I thought you guys would enjoy it.

Off to Lake Geneva for Living Water Evangelical Church (LWEC; pronounced “el-wek”) retreat! Within a month, this is the third retreat/conference I’m going to. Oish. If I’m not blessed, I must have a heart of stone.

Have a good Memorial Day weekend everyone! See some of you at Missions Send-off service!

More substantial stuff when I get back.
